How we are handling COVID-19 in our office

We discussed and have implemented the policies below at this week’s staff meeting.

  1. Every patient washes his or her hands in the operatory.
  2. Staff washes hands in the presence of the patient at the beginning of every visit.
  3. Cleaning of all instruments is everyone’s responsibility. It begins in the operatory by removing cements, calculus, etc. chairside.
  4. Cleaning of instruments in the lab will be done under magnification.
  5. Common areas such as door handles, knobs, public surfaces, bathroom faucets, toilet handles, seats, etc. will be cleaned by staff on an ongoing basis with disinfectant. (Danyel is creating a schedule and stations that each staff member is responsible for.)
