There is a particular date in your staff member’s lives that is very important to them, much more important than I ever realized. You know what that date is? It’s the anniversary of employment. The anniversary of employment makes a big deal to the staff member. After all, the staff member has now been with you for an additional year and staff members keep track of that. How do you commemorate that? There are lots of different ways, but one way is just to take that staff member out to lunch. Why? Sometimes staff members may want to share some information with you and they want to hear at little bit about you personally as well. It kind of closes the bond a little bit more. Makes you more real to that staff member. So take an opportunity to look at your staff member’s anniversary. They will love the idea that you have remembered and you will enjoy that lunch too.
